Poles
Each HES element is a spectrum, not a category: the Low and High poles describe how it presents at its two extremes, while the Reference marks the typical, everyday middle. The poles map variation across the range — neither end is inherently better or worse.
Low social responsibility: commitments are easily broken; convenience outweighs consequences; promises remain flexible.
Commitments are treated seriously; the person aims not to let others down and tracks systemic consequences.
Responsibility is present but bounded by resources and context; major promises are kept, minor ones vary.
Measure
Measuring Methods
• Team observation: how well the person “holds the system.”
• Trade-off scenarios “benefit from breaking vs. keep word” → behavioral choice.
Empirical Anchor
Notes
• Distinct from perfectionism: responsibility is about impact on others; perfectionism is about quality standards.
• Risks at MIN: trust collapse, systemic failures.
• Risks at MAX: hyper-responsibility, burnout, carrying others’ load.
