Poles
Each HES element is a spectrum, not a category: the Low and High poles describe how it presents at its two extremes, while the Reference marks the typical, everyday middle. The poles map variation across the range — neither end is inherently better or worse.
Non-aggressive strategy: aggression is rarely chosen; the person prefers rules, arguments, soft influence, or distance.
Aggression is readily chosen as a tool; pressure and dominance are frequently seen as “effective.”
Aggression emerges mainly under extreme conditions; otherwise contained.
Measure
Measuring Methods
• Real-episode audit: verbal attacks, threats, humiliation.
• Group observation: influence style under pressure.
Empirical Anchor
Notes
• Distinct from C064Anger Propensity: one may feel anger yet not act aggressively.
• Risks at MIN: weak defense under attack (if no alternative strategy).
• Risks at MAX: violence, trust collapse, sanctions.
