Poles
Each HES element is a spectrum, not a category: the Low and High poles describe how it presents at its two extremes, while the Reference marks the typical, everyday middle. The poles map variation across the range — neither end is inherently better or worse.
Slow skill acquisition: more repetitions, more time, and more attempts are required to reach stable performance.
The operative principle is captured quickly and translated into action. Fewer attempts are needed for visible progress, and stable performance emerges faster.
Learning proceeds at a typical pace: with decent structure and practice, progress is steady; complex skills still require time and repetition.
Measure
Measuring Methods
• Learning-curve comparisons (attempts to plateau) under matched conditions.
Empirical Anchor
Notes
• Risks at MIN: avoidance of novelty, accumulation of failure history, reduced self-efficacy.
• Differs from C008Learning Depth & Transfer (speed vs. quality of generalization).
